I ordered for an appetizer and entree pasta dish. I asked for a plate to split this food between me and my mom(I asked for nothing extra from the basic portion that was served and I mean even the salad or bread). I was told I would be charged for a plate. I said I had asked for nothing more but yet if you say so then go ahead charge me. Later on she came back and told me the owner says its fine but from next time you would be charged for a plate. we lost our appetite in this did not even finish our food and left.
Salad is beyond compare. Appreciate the gluten free menu items, but my entree was too heavily spiced for my palate. Server was very attentive, and it's a fine atmosphere for relaxing and catching up with a friend I haven't seen in a long time.
Since I moved to Dubuque I have been visiting this place atleast once a month. I took my mom for dinner today.
Absolutely fantastic Italian food ran by an Italian family. The way it should be made. With love and compassion. Excellent wait staff. That went above and beyond. Will definitely be back. Costly, or higher prices. But well worth the money. Had a fantastic time with my husband, my daughter, & my two grandchildren (girls).
Vinny's has been our first stop in Galena for the past 20 years. In the past, we've always had great food and service. However, we stopped in a couple weeks ago looking forward to our Vinny's meal... unfortunately we were very disappointed. First time in 20 years! Salads were smaller, bread was just not the same and meals tasted reheated and were smaller portions. Our waitress was great... only negative thing was where we were seated. There were 2 very large groups in the room so we could not hear each other talk. If this is the new norm there we will sadly not be back:(
My family and I went there while in Iowa for the day. We loved it! Best Chicken Parmesan around! ☺
