Good variety of facilities, clean. Excellent daycare. Great lap pool. 2 basketball courts, clean racquetball courts. Hot tub. No steam room. Kinda musty smell, but that's normal for an exercise place.
The amount of people who attend the Y now has dwindled SO MUCH!!
Friendly staff. Also very friendly janitor. She always comes over n says hi. I go to the slow n easy water group. On sunday a friend n I go n water walk in the pool. Mondays bike upstairs in circuit room. Relaxing. I love it. Would highly reccomend it.
Also one last thing. They need to program messages in the phone about holiday hours!! You have to play a guessing game and keep calling, hoping someone will answer, to find out the Holiday hours or if they are even open at all!! They are not ever posted on the website either!!
I have been going to this Y since I was 13 years old, I am now 51. It was always a thriving, place. The people in charge were always trying to improve the place, by adding new equipment, while NOT eliminating the old. Especially without input from the customers that actually use the equipment!! The front desk staff were always amazing, helpful and above all friendly!! They always greeted you with a smile or by name! Which made for a great start to your work out! There were clean towels available for use, at no extra charge. All these things and MORE, kept people coming back!! There were many friendships established through attending the Y.
I remember workout classes being so big, that they had to be held in the big gym!
Taking away having clean towels available at no charge. Rude, unfriendly, untrained, unprofessional front desk staff. They either are looking at they're phones, or just plain ignore you. There are only one or two that will actually greet you occasionally. But still not with the same enthusiasm as the help from the past.
I had cancer and the YMCA is where I gained back my strength. Very good pool, but loud when even one kid is there. (2-10 year olds I mean.)
At a time when new facilities were opening in town, the Y should have been offering something better. Like lower rates, or something to keep they're customers. NOT start cutting back on everything!! People left in droves!! I continue to attend the Y, because it's comfortable to me. Since I have gone for so long. I do love that they offer free child care while you work out. A perk that no other health club offers and I do love that they do offer reduced cost memeberships for those in need. I recently had run into a issue and for help from one of the ladies down in the front offices and she was very friendly and more than accommodating. There still are many good reasons to go to this Y. I just wish they hadn't taken away so much.
Staff is wonderful. I love the workout machines, and it is also very clean. Nice pool and hot tub. This is a great place for the community. Glad to be a member.
