The museum gives visitors a unique experience with regards to the wildlife as well as history along the Mississippi River. There's a theater with The Adventures of Lewis and Clark featured now. There's a hands on water works station for kids. You can let the stingrays, watch otters play, see turtles an alligator and all kinds of other fish and river creatires. They have gift shops and a great cafe'.
A wonderful place to learn and explore. Loved the 4D short film. A lot to look at and definitely a great day trip.
The Mississippi River Museum is a great place to bring kids and family. There are many different exhibit areas. They have a large aquarium at the West end, along with the otters. There is an outdoor area in the middle with steamboat parts and a large dredging boat that you can walk on. The east end has a large saltwater tank and an educational and water play area. We visit here once or twice a year.
The museum is a lot of fun and a great way to get to know the Mississippi river the area. It could take a long time going through it if you plan on stopping and checking everything. Their staff are quite friendly and easy to approach if you have any questions.
Great place! My family and I enjoyed ever feature. River monster was an attraction there when we visited a couple of weeks ago. Second time being there.
